	This term in our class we are going to be looking at the topics Ourselves and Autumn.   These are some of the activities we will be doing · Exploring stories through texts and drama. During the first half of the term the stories will be about familiar experiences, such as starting school, families and going shopping. In the second half of the term we will look at non-fiction books and poems about Autumn. · Relating mathematical learning to stories being covered i.e. collecting amounts of food from a shopping list. · Learning about how we grow and sequencing stages of growth. · Exploring and using our senses i.e. investigating different smells and textures. · Using ICT to support learning i.e. websites, digital cameras, microphones and programmable toys. · Using different art materials to make objects related to the story being covered that week i.e. making skeleton pictures using art straws when we are reading      Funny bones. · Use a range of small and large equipment, such as balls, hoops and bean bags. · Share things that we enjoy or are interested in during circle time sessions. Weather In reception the children use both the inside and outside area daily. As the weather is getting colder could you please ensure that your child comes to school with warm clothing. PE We will have PE on a Monday and/or Friday. Junk Materials We would be grateful for donations of any recycled materials such as toilet rolls, yoghurt pots, plastic bottles and cardboard bottles. The children enjoy using these materials to create models at our craft table. School Trip We plan on visiting Parndon Woods during the second half of the term to link with our Autumn topic.
