Spring 2025
In Ladybirds class this half term we have been focusing on the topics of People who help us and Animals. We enjoyed a visit to Barleylands farm, where we got to feed lots of animals, go on a tractor ride, and play in a big playground.
In RE we have been learning about the miracles of Jesus and we have been focusing on the Easter story. We have learned about the days of Holy Week and have sequenced the story. We created a range of crafts to help us to understand what happened. We visited the church and followed the Stations of the cross. During Lent we thought about how we could grow to be like Jesus, helping others.
We celebrated World Book day by dressing up as our favourite story characters. We have focused on reading and writing simple sentences and have learned all of the phase 3 digraphs. We have been working hard on our handwriting, trying to form our letters correctly.
We learned about the celebration of Chinese New Year and the Chinese calendar. We made yummy moon cakes and performed some dragon dances.
In Maths we have been subitising, matching amounts and numerals to 10. We have focused on addition and have started to learn to recall number bonds to 5 and some to 10, developing our number fluency.
We finished the term by taking part in an Easter egg hunt, with an Easter egg as a reward for finding 3 named eggs. We enjoyed cooking activities and crafts to celebrate.
