SPRING 2025
We have been so busy in Spring 1.
We had a great history day where we learnt all about dinosaurs. The children explored fossils, built dinosaur skeletons and designed their own dinosaurs. The parents also attended a history workshop. We also decorated our class door, and we won the door decorating competition!
We have continued to have fun in our continuous provision time and the children have completed some wonderful activities and challenges.
In science we looked at seasonal changes. We explored our outside areas and identified any different seasonal changes we could see. This included leaves changing colour, the sun shining and different insects.
This half term has been really busy but full of lots of fun. We had a wonderful World Book Day where the children looked fantastic in their costumes. Throughout the week we focused on a poem called ‘Now we are 6’ to celebrate all of the children turning 6 years old this school year! The children performed the poem in assembly to all of Key Stage 1. We also made some art based around this poem. In science we have been learning about our 5 senses. We explored the sense of touch by interacting with a range of objects. We played with musical instruments to investigate sound and went on a walk where we completed tally charts to explore our sense of sight. In history we have been learning about the history of Harlow. The children looked at old maps, learnt about Sir Frederick Gibbered and were even so lucky to have Mrs Watts visit to answer some questions about Harlow as someone who has lived in the town for a long time!
