SPRING 2025
We had a very busy Spring term in Hares Class.
In Art we have been looking at how to lighten and darken a given colour and used these shades and tints to paint a picture of a 3D object.
In DT, we were looking at bridges. We made bridges out of a range of different materials including card, spaghetti and masking tape and wood. For the wooden bridges we used saws to cut the pieces of wood into different sizes and then used a hot glue gun to stick all of the pieces together, we thought about how we had to keep ourselves and others safe throughout using the equipment.
On History Day, we spent time looking at Guy Fawkes and the Gun Power Plot. We had a great time with our parents in the classroom creating comic strips of the plot.
Our History topic for this term was The Tudors. We enjoyed learning all about Henry VIII and his 6 wives before going on a fantastic trip to Hampton Court Palace. Where we were guided around some of the courtyards and rooms whilst learning more about Henry VIII and how he ran his palace.
In Science, our topics were light and sound. We carried out a range of different experiments looking at reflection, shadows and sound absorption.
In English, we planned and wrote our own Defeating the Monster stories before going into Butterflies class and sharing our stories with them.
In Maths we have been looking at fractions especially mixed numbers and improper fractions. The children confidently draw a picture to represent the fraction being shown and have worked hard to be able to add and subtract fractions.
