Spring Term
Rabbit class information.
Before half term a crime was committed! Rabbit class was wrecked, we had to call PC Boggle to help us solve the crime. The children took notes and wrote a newspaper report based on the crime. We thought about past tense, subheadings, third person, reported and direct speech. We are now travelling through portals into a chocolate world, we started by freeze framing Alice falling through the rabbit hole and thinking about emotions. To finish this unit, we will be writing our own portal story thinking about characters, portals, settings and general story structure.
Recently in maths we have been thinking about measure, we measured the length and width of places around the school using trundle wheels, we converted units of measure as well as creating shapes with masking tape and measuring their perimeter.
Science has been great fun, we have been looking at changing state, we melted chocolate, looked at Oobleck asking ourselves questions about it, whilst thinking about the properties in solids, liquids and gases. To conclude our topic in science we looked at the water cycle, we sang a song to the tune of the wheels on the bus, this helped us think about how the water cycle works, before creating a water cycle wheel.
